WHITEHORSE – The City has launched a public consultation process for a new Community Economic Development Strategy.
“We are developing a strategy that will help us build a healthier and more vibrant community. The City invites Whitehorse citizens, community organizations, First Nations and other governments to help shape the vision of a prosperous Whitehorse,” said Mayor Dan Curtis.
“The Community Economic Development Strategy will help the City focus on ways to best support economic activities within Whitehorse. The City is collaborating with our partners and hopes to maximize public involvement during this process,” said Deputy Mayor Kirk Cameron.
Feedback from citizens and stakeholders is important for the successful development of a Community Economic Development Strategy for Whitehorse. There will be multiple opportunities for citizens to be involved in the creation of the strategy.
Look for a display and the City’s Economic Development Coordinator at the Canada Games Centre on Wednesday, October 29 from 4 to 8pm. Take transit to this event. Transit schedules and information are available at whitehorse.ca/transit.
This is the first opportunity to share input and feedback. Subsequent dates will be announced in November and December. The City is aiming to complete the strategy by early 2015.
