London foundation tackling gender inequality at next community session – The London Free Press

Low pay, precarious work, poor housing, single-family income, violence, discrimination – women often face the brunt of the problems plaguing London, advocates and researchers say.

That’s one reason why the London Community Foundation is bringing a wide range of speakers to its next Vital Conversation Dec. 4, with a focus on gender inequality.

“There are so many branches of gender inequality — pay, workplace harassment, homelessness, poverty, health. That’s what we are trying to get at with this wide variety of speakers,” Vanessa Dolishny, manager of communications for the foundation, said.

“At the root of it is a systemic issue. It all comes down to the state of women in our society.”
