Non-profit computer recycling gives Canadian registered Charities a boost by providing them with technology in Vancouver

Press Release

ERA donates throughout the community of Vancouver to Organizations in need

VANCOUVER, Aug. 31, 2018  – The Electronic Recycling Association (ERA) announces that they will be donating up to 20 devices to Organizations in Vancouver. Wings of Courage, Vancouver Native Health Society and the YMCA of Great Vancouver are all recipients of this donation. Over the last 14 years, ERA has made it their mission to give back to the community and ensure that charitable organizations do not go without the gift of Technology.

The first organization to receive a laptop from ERA will be Wings of Courage. This donation will be used to allow direct connection with some staff working on a project in Uganda. They are a charitable organization dedicated to strengthening vulnerable communities in Uganda by providing emotional support and the provision of basic needs to orphans and child-headed households. Wings of Courage works to promote the understanding and awareness of the importance of holistic healthy development and the protection of children’s rights so that these children develop to their full potential, along a path that they have created with us, free from hunger and want, neglect and abuse.

The second organization to receive two computers from the ERA will be the Vancouver Native Health Society. Their mission is to improve and promote the health of individuals with a focus on the Aboriginal community residing in Greater Vancouver. They deliver comprehensive medical, counselling and social services generally to Vancouver’sDowntown Eastside Aboriginal community. This donation will be an addition to their office and will assist with writing materials for their programs.

The last Organization to receive 15 laptops, 2 printers and a projector from ERA will be the YMCA of Greater Vancouver. They are dedicated to strengthening the foundation of community by: helping children and families thrive; promoting healthy living; and fostering belonging and connection. This donation will assist with their program for inner city and new youth. Up until now, this organization has been using out of date devices that do not work well with the software they are currently using.

ERA’s Founder, Bojan Paduh mentions, “These donations will impact each organization immensely. We want to do what we can to help, and donating computers is what we do. We hope this donation will generate goodwill from other organizations and the public to step up and give back in whatever ways they can.”
