Canada’s international transactions in securities, October 2018
Foreign investment in Canadian securities totalled $4.0 billion in October, down from $7.8 billion in September. At the same time, Canadian investment in foreign securities increased to $14.9 billion, the largest investment since January 2018.
Environmental and Clean Technology Products Economic Account, 2017
Environmental and clean technology activities, in real (volume) terms, accounted for $58.1 billion of Canadian gross domestic product (GDP) at basic prices in 2017, up 1.3% from 2016. By comparison, the total Canadian economy grew 3.2% over the same period.
Study: Harassment in Canadian workplaces, 2016
Workplace harassment refers to objectionable or unwelcome conduct, comments, or actions by an individual at any event or location related to work that can reasonably be expected to offend, intimidate, humiliate or degrade.
Police-reported violence against girls and young women in Canada, 2017
While the overall rate of police-reported violence against girls and young women fell from 2009 to 2017, the rate for sexual offences rose by 31% over the same period.
Food services and drinking places, October 2018
On a seasonally adjusted basis, sales in the food services and drinking places subsector decreased 0.3% to $6.1 billion in October. Lower receipts were reported in full-service restaurants (-0.8%) and special food services (-1.8%), while limited-service restaurants (+0.4%) and drinking places (+1.5%) reported higher sales.
Accounting Services Price Index, 2017
The Accounting Services Price Index rose by 1.9% in 2017, following a 2.8% increase in 2016. Prices charged by accounting establishments in Canada have risen each year since the survey began in 1999.
